WITH hannah chissick
Inventive director Hannah Chissick leads this unique workshop, accompanied by musical director & arranger, Noam Galperin. Come along yourself or grab a partner, and explore both solo & duet musical theatre repertoire.
Hannah will be directing the highly anticipated UK Premiere of the Broadway classic, Side Show, at Southwark Playhouse. She also directed the acclaimed recent London production of Marry Me A Little.
Tickets must be booked in advance, and we strongly suggest booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Strictly limited Participant tickets are avaliable, as well as many discounted Observer tickets.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Hannah will work with 5 soloists & 5 duet couples, on a song which has previously prepared for the workshop. Each person/couple will recieve a generous amount of time to work on their performance. The workshop itself aims to have a relaxing and supportive atmosphere, allowing participants to feel safe to experiment and try out new things with Hannah.
The workshop will last for 4 hours, with a short break midway through.
Observers will be encouraged to be actively involved, invited to ask questions and support those who are singing in the workshop.
About HANNAH CHISSICK
Hannah studied Drama at the University of Hull.
Immediately after graduating, Hannah worked as Assistant Director to Matthew Wachus on the play Art in London and New York, on returning to the UK she took over as cast change director, directing many casts in the West end and on tour. She then won a Bursary from the Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme to Derby Playhouse.
The following year, Hannah became Artistic Director of Harrogate Theatre.
Productions for Harrogate include Side by Side by Sondheim and Putting it Together, Bouncers, the Fats Waller Musical Ain’t Misbehavin, Ibsen’s Ghosts, Camping Cleo Emanuelle and Dick, The Fantastiks, the critically-acclaimed Steaming (performed in Harrogate’s Turkish Baths), Talking Heads and Alan Ayckbourn’s House and Garden, two plays performed simultaneously by one cast which saw a dramatic re-design of Harrogate Theatre’s auditorium, allowing it to temporarily become two spaces.
After leaving Harrogate, Hannah has directed a large number of Plays and Musicals nationally and internationally. These included the critically-acclaimed West End revival of Side by Side by Sondheim, as well as, the West end premire of Tick Tick Boom, Abigail’s Party at the Northcott Theatre Exeter the world premiere of Horrid Henry – Live and Horrid! Tour and West-end, Kiss of the Spiderwomen for Hull Truck,
As well as her own work Hannah was Associate Director on Matthew Warchus’ production of Boeing Boeing, directing 4 casts in London, 2 on Broadway and 1 in Melbourne.

Most recently Hannah directed the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Marry Me A Little at the ST James’ Theatre and the world premiere of the new 2 act version of Jeremy Sams and Michel Legrand’s musical Amour and worked with Alan Bleasdale on the 40th anniversary production of Down The Dockroad at the Royal Court Liverpool.
Hannah is now working with the NYMT on a new production of the musical Brass, and will be directing the highly anticipated UK Premiere of Side Show at Southwark Playhouse.
About NOAM GALPERIN
Noam trained as a composer and arranger at The Rimon Institute of Jazz and Contemporary Music (in association with Berklee College of Music) in Israel,
He then went on to do his masters in Musical Direction at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Noam has worked as Pianist and Musical Director for the Royal Academy of Music, Arts Ed, Central School of Speech And Drama, Mountview Academy of The Arts, The Actors Centre, Associated Studios, The Urdang Academy and The Voice Explained.
Noam has also composed and arranged for several new theatre shows.
